We are a jolly group of 35+ friends, based in Portesham, with an affinity for real ale.

Our group was initiated by long standing villager, Mr Colin Roper, back in 2014 when a few of us visited Weymouth Pavilion's Ocean Room for a Beer Festival.

​

Pre Covid19 we jumped aboard the X53 and enjoyed an evening pub crawl in different towns, Bridport, Dorchester, Weymouth and Portland primarily with the odd venture, off piste you could say, travelling by mini-bus or train to various breweries such as Otter Brewery,  Hare Brewery home of Bath Ales, Hall & Woodhouse Brewery, Wadworth Brewery and Palmers  Brewery down the road.

We've also met at our favourite watering hole, The Kings Arms, for Jo & Lee's KAMRA evenings and even risked travelling as far as the Isle de Blanc for a very enjoyable Beer & Buses Weekend.

We are back! A few of us jumped aboard the X53 to visit a couple of our favourite haunts in Bridport!

Colin has also been kind enough to host a home brew beer festival each year in August and to date he and his wife, Pip, have raised over £4.000.00 for local charities. These include Homestart (families struggling with children under five), Julia's House (families with terminally ill children) and Prostate Cancer UK (now a bigger killer than any other cancer) gentlemen, please get yourselves checked!

A PRAT.        A Portesham Real Ale Taster.                                            The entry level, age 18+

A SPRAT.      A Senior Portesham Real Ale Taster.          Possessing a Dorset Council Bus Pass

An ASPRAT. An Ancient Senior Portesham Real Ale Taster.         Ancient as in revered, age 70+
